Considering a motorhome - comments needed!!

The other main attraction is that a restrictive covenant in our
property deeds restricts from 'parking a caravan or boat with or
without trailer' on our property. No mention is made of not being able
to park a motror home which on the face of it seems a neat way around
I wouldn't bank on it. Decide how much money you're prepared to spend
on legal fees if a disgruntled neighbour decides to challenge you. Your
vehicle will be registered as a motor caravan, it'd be up to the court
to decide if a motor caravan was the same as a caravan for the purposes
of the covenant. If you lose, which you may well do as you're clearly
breaking the spirit of the covenant, you get to pay both sides legal
An alternative might be to park on the road outside which depends I
think on not causing an obstruction - enough room for a fire engine etc
to pass I expect.
The problem is at night time. The concession to park at night without
lights only extends to vehicles under 1525Kg unladen weight, most campers
are well over this so unless you can find a way of keeping the battery
charged sufficiently to keep the lights on all night every night then you
could get probs.
