I've just bought a new (to me) car which came complete with a the
above towbar which appears brand new. It is the one which inserts vertically under the bumper. I can't for the life of me get it to click into place. I have watched a demo on utube of how to do it but the retaining button won't pop out when I pull the tow bar down. I can get it to work when I press the small release button when not connected to the car. Does any one have any ideas? Frank |

Frank This may sound a silly suggestion but why don't you mail or even ring Witter and ask them - I have always found them very helpful. If you are failing to get the removable bit fully inserted into the socket it won't lock. |

I eventually took it to a specialist and he got the car up on a ramp and was then able to get a bit of pressure on the bracket to force it upwards and the button clicked into place. He then enlarged the slot that the bar went into making it easier to slide in. He charged me £20 for five minutes work but it was worth it. Frank |

I dont like the method used !!!
It really only needed a good clean, as they are a near zero tolerance fit a bit of grit can stop it. -- Autowbars (BFD) www.autowbars.co.uk 01274 416116 Trailer sales and hire.
