Seen a 12foot twin berth Sprite Alpine for sale. Looks ok except a 2
inch gash in rear of bodywork, part of which is a hole with isulation
showing. Is it an easy fix for this or is there more to it? Also it
needs a wheelbearing. Been told its a '91 van, what sort of prices do
these go for privately?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Is it an aluminium skin? If so then you can repair it quite easily. I had a
four inch gash in the skin of my motorhome (Elddis 270) and I drove around
with a piece of double sided carpet tape on it for a couple of months until
I got around to fixing it (duck tape would be better, of course). I
eventually filled it with some metal repair paste (after removing all
paintwork around the gash and poking in a little alloy mesh where the gash
was a bit on the wide side) and sanded and painted it. Been perfect ever
since.
