Caravan battery by
ForeverArsenal
Hi
Sister has just bought a 2008 Sprite Major 5b caravan from a dealer @
£10,000.
Dealer has told them that van does not come with a 12volt battery from new
and
they will need to buy one.
They don't pick the van up fpr another 2 weeks.
It appears previous onwer may have taken the battery off.

Calais for the last night. by
Lunar475
Since 'Gabby' has retired and 'Le Manoir' is no more, we have been
searching for a site where the barriers are not locked until 7.00am -
with no success so far. Our ferry home is at 8.45am, and we need to
check in by 7.45 , can anybody suggest a suitable quiet and
comfortable stop for the night please?

Solar panel question.. by
John Moppett[_2_]
We have a Gobur folding caravan, mainly used on sites with hook up, but
some without. Being a folder we can't install solar panels to keep the
batteries topped up, but thought to use them to keep them topped up when
unfolded on site. Can anybody suggest how big a panels we would need ,
please, only used for lighting and water pump.

Leveller by
Liz Hall
My husband has seen a lockloy aluminium leveller in the milenco catagloue
and I wonder if anyone has used one and if they like it. I don't like it
when we have to get the caravan down off the drive up leveller, would this
sort of device be better

Blind tensioning by
Woody[_3_]
Anyone know the proper procedure for re-tensioning caravan
blinds, both the net and the solid? In particular those across
the front which are butted up to each other.

Generators by

We go to loads of classic car meetings and steam fairs and of course, many

surprised how quiet they seem these days. So much so that we are thinking of
buying one to use to charge our mobility scooter, run tv etc. and...

Honda. All the rest are mostly much louder, smokier, lower powered and
simply not as good ..
We have a new ?59.99 'special' .. but it's useless for caravanning, our
Honda (650 EX) is way better despite being 12 or so years old

new here - folding caravan by
les[_2_]
Up to now have been camping but have just got hold of a secondhand
prompto folding caravan (dont know who make them but they are similar
to the esterel) we are going away in it in july to cornwall as our son
has just moved to newquay.
the van needs a few bits - a 400x400 roof light (guess they are pretty
standard) as its cracked plus a gas strut and a handbrake unit - i
cant find any breakers or...

Avondale Eagle toilet door by
floater
Hi All,
Anybody out there have the above caravan. If so do you have a problem with
the toilet door, in that the runners are absolutely useless. The floor
runner is positioned so that you invariably stand on it and break it leaving
the door prone to jamming and coming out of the roof runner.
Has anybody come up with an alternative type of door which is more useful.

Caravan battery charging by
ianro
My caravan has stopped charging the battery when connected to the
electric hook up. All the 240 volts work as do all of the 12 volt
equipment. The fuse for the battery charger sometimes gets hot, and a
few fuses have melted the plastic on the fuse. What could be wrong ?

Portable Caravan Satellite system by
Ian
I'm looking for a fairly cheap satellite system as I'm fed up with no decent
terrestrial aerial signal. I've had a look at Maplins who do a 40cm in a
suitcase but am concerned as most of my sites are in Scotland (although only
up to Perthshire) and am led to believe that a 40cm dish may not be very
good. Is this true? Could anyone recommend a system (I also am aware that
Aldi & Lidl often...

Alko Tow Hitch by
Barno
Hi all,
Am after a bit of advice from some towing experts. I have been looking on
the net and am totally confused, My son has just bought a second hand
caravan with an Alko tow hitch. The question I have is do you NEED to have a
special tow ball fitted to the car for these hitches, or can you use a
standard one?

Zig CF8 output current specification by
Calvin Sambrook
Does anybody happen to know the output capability of a Zig CF8 please? I've
trawled the web but Zig seem to be a bit in the dark ages and although I can
find photocopies of their manual I can't find any mention of what current
the unit can handle.
The reason for the question is that I'm planning to ignore all of the big
bold warnings from Zig and connect a (quite small) 12V compressor...

Jacksons Of Arley by
kenl
Went out to see what is left of Jacksons after their recent fire.
There is absolutely nothing left, the whole building is gutted. They
are going to open up again in new premises, and are running an outlet
in the nearby caravan sales area. But I bet all those little bits of
old caravan spares that they had are all gone. Shame!!

caravan site guides by
Liz Hall
Could anyone tell the best guide in their opinion for UK caravan sites. We
are members of the CC but fancy something a bit different this year. We
used Cades for a few years and found it helpful, perhaps there are better
ones now.
Thanks
