Nissan X Trail Problems with French/Spanish Diesel Fuel by lewis lodge
My 06 X Trail experiences "pinking" misfire problems when running on diesel fuel in France and Spain. Premium grades (eg Total Excellium) or supermarket have the same effect when solo or towing. It can be overcome with Wynns product to eliminate "black smoke". When UK fuel is used there is no problem. Other diesel X Trail owners agree they have the same problem. Question : Can the UK X Trails be...

Le Manoir - she is open!! by Woody[_3_]
For those of you who have not scoured your CC France book lately, Le Manoir de Senleques near Boulogne - very popular with readers of this group - has been bought and is once more open for business. In fact it has been open since early last year. The washing facilities are the same as ever, but the rest is a bit of a letdown. Seems that before he left Gabby removed all of the electricity...

Satellite TV by DartMan
Hello all, We've just bought a second hand motorhome. Included is a satellite system complete with a PACE Sky minibox. There is no card and I wondered what, and where, I can obtain one. Being a newbie to this stuff I'm somewhat confused about 'blue' and 'white' cards - what is the difference and where do I obtain one? I should add that we don't have Sky at home and, for the foreseeable future,...

Gas flexible pipe. by Lunar475
My local Calor Centre recently told me that orange hose has a service life of 10 years now, the regulation having recently changed from 5 years. That is for boat application, btw which is unlikely to be less severe than in caravans imo.

France and fuel by polly filler
Hi all, I've had this passed on to me, so I'm passing it on to hopefully save someone some expense A post on CaravanTalk which might be of interest. This holiday (May/June) in France we've had problems with our car, with black emmissions, noisy performance, and 'popping' (like small misfires) and 'lumpy' performance like a petrol engine missing. The problem started after

Stabiliser advice required please!! by Happydaiz
Hi, we have just bought a 13ft Elddis, it's pretty old, got glass windows but doesn't seem to have a model name anywhere. Anyway, I'm having a swan neck towbar fitted to my Chevy Lacetti next week and I've been looking into getting a stabiliser. I've read that blade stabilisers can only be used on swan necks if it doesn't taper. As I haven't seen the bar yet I don't know if it does! The guy I...

FA e-bay: ex Fleetwood Caravans by Dougal
Many items which I believe are from the now defunct Fleetwood Caravans factory are being auctioned off: http://tinyurl.com/6fhwubz I think that this link covers most of caravan/motorhome items but there is other stuff at the top level. (I've no connection with this firm other than as a potential customer. No recommendation implied.)

Using a full service pitch by Appelation Controlee
In a week's time we'll be staying for a week on a site where the only availability for our size of caravan is a full service pitch. I haven't used one of these pitches before, although I've observed (at a distance) how one or two others have set themselves up. Is there an off-the-peg kit available? Alternatively what do I need to assemble kit-wise to be able to deal with most eventualities when...
