Actually, you're quite right, Bill. Both kids and dogs can be a nuisance at
times. I suppose it's a matter of personal experience. Personally I have
never had any trouble with kids misbehaving on sites, whereas I have had
lots of trouble with unruly dogs. I would personally opt for a...

Have just returned from France today and read this post.To some up the replies;
an article in todays Daily Express tells the story of an English couple being
gassed as they slept in an Aire near Lyon. They new nothing until they came too
and found all their possessions gone and they were in amongst other caravans.
To those who say they haven't had any problems staying on Aires, then...

Also, many shops do not open on Mondays. Sorry, but Sunday is a real

Not for the French though. At least the vast majority of the population get
a proper day off with the family.
Perhaps Sunday still feels...

Cruise control and towing. by
Neil Barnes
Phil, If you can get it fitted to your car then do it, it is great. It takes
a lot of the strain out of driving, either with or without a caravan on
board. I have it on my Range Rover and would not now buy a car without it.
It takes away the concentration needed to watch your speed and leaves you
free to watch what the other idiots on the road are doing.
As for the cruise dropping out, mine is...

Depends upon the area. If you are in a heavy tourist area then even the
hypermarkets are open. For instance the big one in Frejus opens on a Sunday
during the season and the intermediate one in Brevins-les-pins. I would
expect that some around Nice are open, but are less likely to be so as you
go inland.
