CAMPING CARAVAN MAINS ELECTRIC UNIT HOOK UP CABLE REEL by Lunar475
In France ,as in most of the European mainland, two - pole switching is employed, so when an appliance is switched 'off', both lines are interrupted. This means that polarity is not an issue for them, especially with ac current.

Renault Master self build by Pendrag0n
Hello guys, I'm thinking of buying an ex RAF T35 Renault Master self build. The van is a 1992 straight 2.5 diesel with a genuine 45k. The conversion is good enough and the condition of the van is superb for the year. I will need to get cambelt done on principal, is that a big deal/cost? Any opinions on it as a van and any problems visiting campsites with self builds?

Towball height by John B[_3_]
Please could anyone advise of a legal way to raise the height of my towball, an Alko extended, about one inch. I have a Xsara Picasso 1.6 hdi and have recently changed my van to a 2003 Swift Charisma 230. When hitched to the car it is sloping nose down which prevents me seeing through the rear bathroom window. There is a clear rear view when lifted on the jockey wheel about one inch, even...

Gas flexible pipe. by David
Thought I would change the flexible gas pipe from the gas bottle regulator so bought a cut length from a dealer yesterday, was told to replace again in a year. Do you change yours every year? The caravan as been 3 times serviced by the dealer I wonder why the piece I took off was the year of manufacture of the caravan. If someone confirms it is a legal requirement I suggest you all check your...

Habitation Relay by puffernutter
I recently purchased a "new to me" Sterling 620 Europa, with a 13 pin socket. The tow vehicle had a 7 pin, so to tow it home I bought an adaptor. Last weekend I converted the tow vehicle to 13 pin, including a split charge relay. I now find that "due to EU EMI regulations" whenever the tow vehicle is connected, the only power allowed in the van is to the fridge, so none of the lights...

Using the laptop when away. by David
The site I'm going to is near a pub/restaurant which has a Hotspot Wi-Fi does not say it is free on its adverts. I see The Cloud is used. Anyone any experience of costs involved using this sort of place? I have also got an O2 dongle I know that to use the O2 network at £15. The O2 Directory does not list the above Hotspot. Thanks for any advise as I do find these things complicated. David

Ofcom is today asking consumers to get in touch if they have received a higher than expected mobile, landline or broadband bill in the past 12 months. Consumers can sometimes find themselves faced with bills for unexpected costs such as using their mobile abroad, making more calls than their monthly allowance, having their phone stolen, calling expensive or premium rate numbers, or...

Wastemaster empting by Mike[_12_]
To be fair most sites have to pay for all this water that you all dropping in to septic tank and its a lot of water in a week if everyone dropped all down the sluice. Far, far better to have a bucket with a hole in it dear Liza or, purchase 4 or 5 yards of black flexible hose and let it drop in the the hedgestrait our of the conection under the van. Michael

experience never just presume its the caravan at fault by les[_2_]
Bought an old megane a year ago (y reg) I normally tow with my Volvo S80 but decided as the megane is diesel and has a tow bar with electrics fitted would check it out for towing. The caravan had been stood over winter so attached the caravan to the megane and the indicators on the offside were not working, thinking as the caravan was stood all winter it would be that, 2 hours later after...
