Oil Change by
Dutchman
Thinking of changing the oil in my ducato 2.8 JTD 2003 this weekend. Any
ideas if using fully synthetic such as Total 9000 would be an advantage over
semi-syth as used in the past Thanks

Insurance etc for a campervan? by
Jerry[_4_]
I have now acquired my first camper (luton 4 berth) on transit
chassis.
Presumably joining Camping and Caravan Club would be a bonus as I plan
on visiting plenty of UK sites/CLs.
My existing RAC breakdown/recovery automatically covers the camper,
and for an extra £85 I can get an upgrade to 1 years Euro cover
(subject to being CCC member)

Hiring in Canada by
Budgie
Has anyone experience of hiring a motorvan in Toronto, either in April or in
July?
We would make a 10-day trip. Is it an economical alternative to, say, 4
nights in a 2 or 3-star hotel?

Buying a motorhome/camper by
Jerry[_4_]
Morning campers.
I am interested in buying a camper around £10,000 or less. I think I
would prefer a Ford based diesel camper for reliability and servicing
costs etc. 2 to 4 berth and preferably a camper and not just a van
type (Duetto)
Touring UK/Europe
Not too worried about LHD/RHD will this affect insurance etc much?

Peugeot Boxer Autosleeper Starting by
Zinc Potterman
I have a small problem with my Autosleeper Symphony 2.5 diesel boxer. (1994)
It starts very well from cold (usually first time, even on cold morning) but
sometimes when warm the starting motor makes a whirring sound but the engine
fails to start.
It usually recovers after a few attempts.
Any thoughts or similar experience please.

fiat 2.8 battery more info please by
Dutchman
I need to change the cab battery, dealers tell me it needs a 017 or 019
around 89 amp hour. I notice the battery fitted is a 110 amp hour combined
starter and leisure. My question do I need to replace a 110 amp as there is
connections to the leisure (charging) or go for the Fiat recommended Bosch
017/019. Also I have been told to get a battery master fitted to stop the
drain on the cab...

fiat ducat 2003 diesel 2.8 battery by
Dutchman
Is it easy to change the battery in this van, I think its a 017. At the
moment its flat as a pancake, not used for 4 months. Have been advised to
buy a Varta or Bosch, both German for lasting power. Found on the net for
around £78.
Just looks difficult to remove and fit, love some comments Thanks John

Replacement skylight for VW T4 Holdsworth Villa by
Brian[_5_]
Can anyone recommend a supplier &/or fitter of a suitable skylight for a VW
T4 Holdsworth Villa Campervan (J Reg) please?
A supplier in or close to Bedfordshire would be ideal. I understand that
Richard Holdsworth Conversions are no longer in business so perhaps someone
could advise if a Fiamma skylight would be compatible.
Driving down the M1 on Saturday a gust of wind opened the skylight...

The Baltic Coast of Poland. by

I posted this yesterday to uk.rec.caravanning as I do tow a small caravan
but afterwards thought that somebody here may have wandered east and
might be able to advise, so here goes :-
Last year we went east beyond Berlin to the border with Poland and cycled
into Poland and the Czech Republic. This has given us the urge to go
further next spring and I have been looking at the northern coast...
