Satellite by
Dystopia[_2_]
There will not be any analogue TV signal anywhere soon, I understand
it has already been switched off in the West Country. I wanted to
fit a satellite dish to my medium sized motrohome but there was not a
free area on the roof to mount the metre square base plate so I have
fitted one to the cycle rack and thought that someone else might be
interested. See

extension aerial that maybe fixes on the outside of the caravan to boost
signal.
I have seen this on e-bay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/WONG-TRADE and also

Caravan Club Availability Easter Weekend by
Gunslinger[_3_]
I note that the CC are not running the 'late availability' search on their
website this year, and in fact looking on the website there seems to be
plenty of availability over the Easter weekend this year - unlike 2007, the
last time Easter fell in April.
Of course they have not done themselves any favours in terms of late Easter
bookings, by having their site reservation system down last...

Breakdown cover by
Andy R
My RAC breakdown cover is up for renewal. I thought I'd shop around a bit
but I can't find the same level of cover anywhere else. What I need is
personal cover for me & t'mrs in any vehicle we own for UK & Europe
I've already tried greenflag/directline, morethan, churchill, britannia &
AA.
Gem do a great value UK policy but the european cover is per vehicle so I'd
need a policy for each...

C&CC Clubcare Motor Insurance by
Gunslinger[_3_]
Does anyone else have experience of using C&CC Clubcare to insure their car
(not motorhome, where they apparently still use the dreaded Equity Red
Star)?
They use different brokers now - MCE, based in Northamptonshire who I
believe mainly specialise in motorbike insurance.
However the standard of administration remains particularly poor, even by
C&CC standards:
1. Over a month to send out...

Experience of renting out your motorhome by
WolfWilf
As it's quiet, I'll emerge from my lurking corner and ask the group's
opinion;
Has anyone had experience, good or ill, of renting out their vehicle through
Motorholmes (or similar)? The information they send me is very friendly and
positive so I'm tempted but I would like to hear any views. Is it really
possible to own a new motorhome at nil cost?
Regards

Travelling to Eire by
Jock[_3_]
Hi all - my first posting to this group - and looking for some advice!
We are travelling to Eire in our camper van next month and wonder if
our UK analogue portable tv will receive signals from Irish tv.
Second - we are carrying Calor gas in 4.5kg bottles - is this
available in Eire or should I carry my France kit of Camping Gaz &
adaptor?
We intend to remain in the southern half of the country...

Second chance on the LEZ by
ryouwho@hotmail.com
From the GLA website " the existing phases 1 and 2 of the scheme...
have proved effective. Phase three of the scheme, planned by the
previous Mayoral administration, was scheduled to start in October
2010 and would have affected much smaller vehicles, including vans and
minibuses, and even family camper vans."

To use the many free wireless network points available in the UK and Europe
while travelling, you need to have a suitable detector program that will
alert you to the presence of a WIFI signal and tell you if it is unencrypted
or not, and indicate the signal strength.
