Default Lighting/electrics help - Avondale

Hello all,

I have bought a 2 berth Avondale Perle Orestes, 1994.
As this didn't come with a manual and I'm a first timer, I'm trying to find
my way around it all beginning with the electrics.

There is a switch that says

What is Auxiliary used for?
The strip lights in the van - do they run off the battery or the mains?
There is only one battery in the cupboard, do people sometimes put a second
one in as back up?
What standard repair/replace kit should I put together?

I wished I knew what everything was for, there are wires everywhere and I'm
confused as ever.
Many thanks,

Dribbler aka Kay
