Any recommendations for camp sites (Tents!) in the Ambleside area,
preferably ones which allow disposable bbq's to be used.

The Croft is good and also close to Hawkshead centre, with all its
attractions, especially the church clock which chimes every quarter past the
hour, half hour, quarter to the hour and on the hour, every hour 24 hours of
the day.
Tent walls are unfortunately by design thin and not soundproof in any way so
sleep is often disturbed.
This does not bother our family as we have been regular attenders at the
site for the last 25 years so this is not a complaint, only a comment.

And just up the road is a farm where the farmer lets out a
field. There's a couple of cold taps and ladies' and gents'
toilets - and if you feel the need for a shower there's always
the Croft just down the road...
