Hi All.
As per the title doing some late season camping this weekend. The Forestry Commission campsites are unfortunately now closed and would probably have been my first choice. Had a look at Red Shoot Camping Park: http://www.redshoot-campingpark.com/index.html but the reviews are rather mixed and it is expensive: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/re...asp?revid=1192 Not particularly bothered about location in the New Forest. Thanks for any help you can give. John. |

See: http://www.forestholidays.co.uk/cara...new-forest.asp Setthorns and Holmsley Forestry Commission sites are still open according to the website. We were planning on staying on Holmsley this weekend as Setthorns has no toilet block. It's a large site, old airfield I think but don't let that put you off, there are still some nice pitches on the edge of the trees. |

Thanks to you both for the advice.
Spent a very enjoyable weekend at Sandy Balls with a couple of friends. The site was very busy which shows how popular it is. Visited Fordingsbridge on Saturday morning for a late breakfast and then walked to Ringwood (caught a taxi back to the campsite as it was getting late and dark!). Sunday visited Christchurch and hired a motor boat for an hour along the Avon, great fun. John. |
