Default Camping New Forest this weekend - can anyone make some campsite recommendations?

Hi All.

As per the title doing some late season camping this weekend.

The Forestry Commission campsites are unfortunately now closed and would
probably have been my first choice.

Had a look at Red Shoot Camping Park:

http://www.redshoot-campingpark.com/index.html

but the reviews are rather mixed and it is expensive:

Not particularly bothered about location in the New Forest.

Thanks for any help you can give.

John.

See:

Setthorns and Holmsley Forestry Commission sites are still open according to
the website. We were planning on staying on Holmsley this weekend as
Setthorns has no toilet block. It's a large site, old airfield I think but
don't let that put you off, there are still some nice pitches on the edge of
the trees.

Thanks to you both for the advice.

Spent a very enjoyable weekend at Sandy Balls with a couple of friends. The
site was very busy which shows how popular it is.

Visited Fordingsbridge on Saturday morning for a late breakfast and then
walked to Ringwood (caught a taxi back to the campsite as it was getting
late and dark!).

Sunday visited Christchurch and hired a motor boat for an hour along the
Avon, great fun.

John.
