Default Wild Camping France & Spain

Hi there,

Will be touring these 2 countries in July and wanted to know what the rules
regarding wild camping are?

Any help would be appreciated.

what do you mean by "camping" ?
Placing your tent at the LouvreŽs garden? ;-)

If youŽre asking for RVs than
France is very liberal for free standing/overnight parking.
Just lookout for local restrictions.
YouŽll find a good summary he
http://campingcar.enliberte.free.fr/...c/03c_fr-d.htm

Essentialy the same is true in spain.

But take care for criminal attacks in southern France at
the cote dŽazur and in northeastern spain near the costal motorway
(IIRC named A7).

Check the charter for the newsgroup then I'm sure you'll understand what
wild camping means.

There was a holiday program on t'other evening and one presenter was in
northern spain, a mountainous region. She did say that you can camp for
free as long as you're above 1600 feet... hmmmm... spain... maybe it was
meters .... but that seems excessive doesn't it?
