Default whale water filters

I have just seen a filter you can buy and install yourself into the plumbing
of the caravan , that claims to rid the water of unpleasant taste and odours
.. it cost 17.99 , i wondered if anyone has any experience of this?

Bought one several years ago, it was about that excessive price then.
Torpedo shaped container with hose attachment each end. It works.
SWMBO was informed it was for the caravan but really purchased in an attempt
to take unpleasant taste out of some home brew which I had made in a blue
plastic bin without using a polythene bag liner. The chemical flavour
probably caused by direct contact with the coloured plastic.
Started syphoning the nasty stuff and it was a miracle- changed home brew
into crystal clear water. Unfortunately it took out all other flavours and
the alcohol content too.
Now if I could get it to work the other way...
