HI MY NAME IS ROY .WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM OTHER HYMER OWNERS .I HAVE
A LHD CAMP 46 MODEL AS ANYONE PUT A MORE POWERFULL ENGINE IN THIS
MODEL OR THE CAMP 52.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE CAN I GET HYMER SPARES
Yes, I've owned a 1992 Hymer since last summer (Merc-based S555), and
what I've learned about spares come to:
(1) For "vehicle" parts (the mechanicals, plus cab doors, windscreen,
dash etc if it's still got the original van's cab) seek as for the
equivalent van - Fiat main dealers, or local motor-factors (breakers
yard if lucky)
(2) For "caravan" parts (eg window stays, fridge vents, heater parts,
12V fluorescent lighting, mains hook-up "door", water pump, curtain
track etc) try your local caravan dealer. For some parts, you'll need
to find one who does motorhomes.
(3) For specialist Hymer parts, there's Hymer UK (Part of the
Brownhills group, see www.hymeruk.com) but I've had mixed reaction
from them (they supplied the right touch-up paint instantly, but were
HOPELESS when I went there to discuss
getting a bike-rack). They're at www.hymeruk.com
I've had excellent service from Hambilton Engineering, who quickly got
from Germany the plastic "housings" for the side of my drop-down bed,
and supplied from stock the right "wood grain" panel for me to alter
my cupboards. (They also fitted for me a gas oven. It was expensive,
but they had to change a lot of cupboards, and did so immaculately).
I noticed they had the big (A-class)windscreens etc in stock there,
and do a lot of internal conversions. They're at
Hope that helps!
