Maybe he's refering to the caravan bit, where some bloke stated the maximum
speed limit for cars towing caravans is 50 mph, whereas in reality it's 60
on dual carriageways and motorways, and 50 elsewhere.

It should be 0mph, unsafe piles of cardboard. All you want is a doddering
old tit like Bloomfield driving his Volvo 240 with a big white cardboard
shed on tow. He probably can't even see past the bonnet.

50 elsewhere, what? like in 30 zones, or 20 or 40 zones? )

I presume you mean on NSL single carriageways.

They don't know anything on Top Gear. Just the law that says if you're test
driving a car you have to shout 'Woooooooh' a lot.

Wish I had recorded it as I am sure that when they drove the caravans
into place the one on the end near the ramp was a Piper. When they
did the jump It had changed to a Eldiss. Amazing that or did they have
to do the jump more than once?

What do you expect from a load of prats on a boys toys programme. Once upon
a time Top Gear was a serious motoring programme.

Indeed it was, when they had that twit Chris Goffey (IIRC) extolling
the virtues of the diesel Range Rover, because they'd had a
bollocking from the government of the time that they were slating UK
made cars (Ital et al) for being the iron-worm infected heaps of crap
that they were.

I much prefer the new format (I've not seen this new series though).

They can get a bit annoying at times, but on the whole, the program is
_fun_. There's a lot of drivel out there at present (pretty much
_anything_ on ITV, and most things on Saturday), but at least TG is
entertaining.

Pete.

Top gear is ****e. Its nothing but an excuse to drive cars fast around an
airfield. Every car review is only worried about how it can skid around
corners while still in control. The piece on the IOM was ****e.

My two sons (17 and 14) watch this program and both have got into boy racer
posters all over their bedroom walls. They think the mark of a good car is
its 0 to 60 time and how well the car handles when skidding. It is
irresponsible rubbish.
