Does anyone know of a Self Built Motor Camper club or group that is not the
SBMCC ?, I'm looking for a motor camper club that has load of kids and
family rallies?

You could join the Camping and Caravanning Club. It's not specifically
for self-built but caters for all sorts and in the 3 years that I have
been a member attending their DA (District Association) meets held in
various fields around the country they have always been very pleasant.
Lots of mixed families and couples using Tents, Caravans and
Motorhomes. A good cross section of people from different backgrounds
and all wanting to have a nice time in their own way be it socialising
with fellow campers or just having a quiet time on their own. I have
never had a problem with overly officious members nor jobsworths
although some are keen on rules but of course these are always
reasonable and stipulated to ensure the enjoyment of all members.
Provided we ensure that the children respect fellow campers and their
property it has always been a very pleasant and cheap way of camping.
The CCC attracts a lot of families and my children (now age 10 and 4)
are almost always meeting new friends at every DA meet. We usually
plan to only stop for 1 night a location but frequently we have
changed plans and returned to a DA meet several nights in a row as the
children have had such a pleasant time with new friends.

Cost is approx 30 pa but with DA meets (and their small "Certified
Location" campsites) only costing 5 to 8 per unit per night this is
quickly recovered in campsite fees.

Best wishes,
Steve
