I stayed there a few years ago. It was definitely a quiet and peaceful
place then, I doubt that it has changed since.

We stayed there 2009. Very quiet, surrounded by a 10ft+ wall with
code operated electric gates so also secure. It was originally
the kitchen garden for Sutton Hall.

Water, waste disposal and electricity are the only facilities -
no showers or toilets.

Very popular site so ring and book in advance. Very nice elderly
couple who own/run it - used to run a cheese (or was it fruit and
veg?) stall on Chesterfield Market before they retired.

Best access is from J29A towards Chesterfield. At island at
Arkwright turn left to Sutton Scarsdale. Site entrance is wrought
iron gates just on top of hill on right, directly opposite Sutton
Hall entrance (English Heritage and free.) Good base for visiting
north Derbyshire, Bolsover Castle, and Sherwod Forest.
