Back yesterday from another great trip to France. Stayed one night at the
municipal site at Carentan in Normandy, three nights at Camping Municipal at
Blaye just north of Bordeaux, ten nights at Camping Les Mimosas at Narbonne,
ten nights at the municipal site at Pezenas, eleven nights at the French
Camping and Caravan Club site at St Palais sur Mer near Royan, 2 nights back
at Carentan and one night on the quayside at Cherbourg. Campsite fees
varied between 11 and 15 Euros a night which included electricity, usually 6
amp but one with 10.
One of the highlights was spotting six Sacred Ibis on the lagoon near
Narbonne. These are apparently rare birds but we had the good fortune to
meet a French professor of ornithology and he told us that they had escaped
from a wildlife park somewhere else in France.
Nice to be back though and we are making plans for the next trip in a couple
of months time.
Regards to all.
