How quiet these newsgroups have been since Dave Fawthrop died?

He will be missed...

Didn't know he had! Was there a public announcement somewhere?

Yes, it was terribly sad - and very sudden.

Apparently, he had an ignition problem on his caravan fridge and, following
his own expert advice, he kept the ignition button depressed for almost half
an hour, allowing gas to accumulate in his 'van

Then he tried starting the fridge again - hoping to measure the 'pop' it
made when igniting.

Firemen said it was a miracle that the house didn't blow up as well.

The bits of him that could be found are being buried on Monday - donations
to CORGI in lieu of flowers.

Took the van to South Wales, the weather was not as bad as the forcasts
indicated.

It's a MIRACLE! Praise the Lord. Reverend Love's 48 hour Pray-a-thon for
Dave's soul was not in vain. It is even more fortuitous that Dave is
dyslexic and had mistakenly sold his soul to Santa (who gladly gave it back
in return for a glass of sherry, some biscuits and a few handy tips on "The
Fawthrop 'Spark Test' Method for detecting flatulence in Reindeer").
