What is the best route to tow on from M1/M25 Junction to CC site at Much
Wenlock?.
Some say take the M6 non toll section from the M1 thence M54 to Telford ring
road and then go south to site. Or what about cutting across to the M40 from
M1 (Daventry turn off) and then to Kidderminster /Bridgenorth
and then site.
Is the M6 going to be deadly on a Saturday?

Cheers

Not much to choose between them. What time Saturday? Apparently Sat
lunchtime is the new rush hour, as parents take kids to/from weekend
activities. Getting from M42 to Kidderminster is a bit messy though.
You've either got to go north on M5 to Jn 4 or South to Jn 5. Another
alternative is off at M42 Jn 1, round Bromsgrove and out on A448. You've
then got to get through Kidderminster and then through Bridgenorth,
usually not massive hold-ups just slow and you can easily get stuck
behind slow moving trucks/tractors etc. If you're going that way then
why not go round M25 a bit further and come up M40 from scratch. Haven't
checked actual mileage but I would have thought it would be quicker if
that's your main criteria. Personally I'd go M6/M54 and hope. Might be
worth checking AA site for road works on both routes.

Other route is motorway/dual carriageway to Telford. Telford is no
problem. Short drop down to Much Wenlock via Buildwas, then out on
Church Stretton road and site is just a mile or so out of town on the
left.

Have you been there before? The site is just over the road from access
to Wenlock edge. I have my van on a seasonal pitch just a couple of
miles away at Hughley. Lovely countryside.

Certainly more scenic than the M6 through Birmingham!! It's the usual
choice really - motorway boring but quick (normally) or the cross
country slower but more scenic route.

Thanks for advice all.

Thought of stop start on urban motorway thro Bham is nightmarish although I
suppose quicker.

Never been there before a truly hoping for a bit of "space" and air to
breath..and a few pubs too.
