Default sealant and rails in a swift

Bedding sealant mate, look for IDL99, or best equivalent.

hiya guys,

just took out some silicone sealer someone put "on" ( note not "in")

of the entire side rail. the opposite one to the awning rail.

at the top front corner, just where its all rotted inside the van,
there is about a 5-6 mill gap between the rail and the van.
Is this rail just bedding sealer sealed on or is it bonded like the
awning rail.

if its bedding then ill take it off and re-seal it, but ive got a
funny feeling in my waters, that the wood at the top where the gap is
has long packed its bags and left.

any suggestions on what i can do, at least to bring the rail in as it
should be.

i cant strip out the cupboards and wall panels to change the wood, not
for a few years yet anyway.

hope someone can help
