has anyone towed with the above engine - what do you think about it ?

Peugeot dealer says this car is ok for towing a 1250 kg caravan. The
car is quite powerfull and very fast when driven without a load.
Worried that caravan may overwhelm it due to the small cc. Has anyone
tried this model and engine ?

Go to www.parkers.co.uk and look it up . My work car ( not my towcar ) is a
distant cousin to the Pug. Its a 2.0HDI 110 Citroen Xsara and whilst its a
French missile ( Exocet ! ) for speed, its only 1200kilos.
Without specifically checking the 307s statistics I'd take a guess its
weighs in at under 1250kilos. This means you are at 100% ratio which I
thought was scorned on in this NG.
Its not necessarily power thats the issue, its the mass of hte car in
relation to the van

http://www.clicreports.co.uk/

according to this website it's, max 1100Kg for the 1.6 110bhp version, so go
back and speak to the dealer, remember it's not the 85% rule that applies
here it's the manufacturers limit, which is less. You need the 2L hdi!

All the above assuming it's a 307SW! check whats written in the manual, as
different versions have different allowances!
