Met a guy by chance the other night who was a recovery truck driver, he told
me about a scam he nearly and very unwittingly got involved in about two
weeks ago.

His company got a phone call asking if they could recover a "broken down"
motorhome from Nottingham and take it to be repaired in Birmingham. He
quoted the price and the deal was agreed.

He was given the address and told that motorhome key had jammed in lock, so
doors would be open and key inside, if he could go and pick it up, they then
said they would meet him on way into Birmingham (where they were working) to
show him exactly where it was to be taken.

He arrived to pick it up, luckily the thieves hadnt bargained for fact that
the motorhome owners father in law lived next door, he came out to see what
was going on, police were called and motorhome didnt go anywhere.

A lucky escape, and worth noting that if you leave motorhome on the drive
maybe a wheel clamp could be useful.
