Purchased new in 2003 a special Compass Omega (Liberte) a 4 birth rear
bathroom only lasted 8 months new rear panel needed, it was cracked. A fault
I have been told by a senior member of staff from Explorer they knew about
but did not recall any vans. We had running water down the inside rear
bathroom wall from the rear brake light. A fault they did know about and
did do a recall for.
It was changed in 2004 at a cost to ourselves. New van lasted 17 months we
have now had to have a new interior wall in the bathroom due to running
water coming from an outside side running light, which left us with standing
water in the bathroom. we waited 4 months for parts and now the job has
2 vans and Explorer are not interested. They are just the major faults we
have also had:
New entry door, all cupboard doors re-glued, new bed board, new fire
plinth, new water inlet. we now have a problem with the front window cill
and many more faults.
Explorer have fulfilled their obligation to the warranty and Guarantee and
are not interested in customer service.
I wouldn't touch Explorer again. The Caravan Mag article last month says
that in the future they will improve but no help to existing customers.
