tow bar possibilities by Gary B
I have an autosleeper Peugeot boxer van, and now I'd like to have a tow bar fitted. So - wondered if you have to go to a specialist motorhome fitter or can you go to anyone who advertises fitting? One complication may be that it has a rear step fitted - that seems to be welded or bolted onto the main chassis - that obviously sticks out about 18 inches - so maybe this has to be removed first? It...

Zig Units & 12v Fridge Supply by steve
When I fiited a Zig CF2000 (same as cf9) to my van I wondered why it was neccesary to wire the 12v for the fridge through it. When my fridge stopped working last week I wondered the same again. I bypassed the Zig and the fridge is working perfectly. Can anyone explain why the Fridge should be run through Zig. I thought it may have been to disconnect the 12v when the 240v Fridge/Charge...

Motor home - motor caravan by Ulrike Messerschmidt
Hello everyone, I always thought that "motorhome" was the American expression for the British "motorcaravan". Now I am just back from a wonderful vacation in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. There I found the rather common magazine "MMM - motorhome motrcaravan monthly". So motorhomes and motorcaravans must be something different. Could anyone tell me this difference, please?

Solar cells by John Webb[_2_]
Anyone any experience of installing solar cells. I was thnking of one of the semi rigid ones bonded directly on the motor caravan roof but I was told by one supplier that is wrong as they can get so hot they damage the roof. Hence, an air gap is needed. Others say it is OK. Any views please. -- J T Webb

YORK SHOW by AH[_2_]
It is always easy to criticise but the organisers of this year's show at York leave themselves wideopen for criticism. From arriving to leaving it was obvious that little thought or effort had gone into the logistics of the event, both inside and outside the actual ground. At this point I have to say I was only a day visitor and maybe the evening socials were superb, but for visitors who came...

Diesel Chipping by SH
Has anybody had any experience of chipping their motorhome. 85bhp on the 2.0jtd is not enough - the same engine produces 108bhp in the Fiat car. What would a chipped engine with intercooler produce without putting unnecessary strain on the engine. Has anybody had any experience? Steve

Seat / Lap Belts - Swift 590 RL by Jon R
Does anyone have experience of fitting seat/lap belts to the rear of any of the Swift range, I have been told it is ok to take the load directly to the floor as long as the plates underneath are large enough, does anyone have any views on this ? I have two 6 year olds so your advice would be of great help.

Demountables by Kev
I would like to change from a caravan and am thinking about wether a demountable might be a good compromise between caravan and motorhome. I have never meet anybody on site with one and its is a bit concerning that there are seemingly so few around. Anybody out there ever owned one or can pass on any comments, good or bad about them. TIA Kev

To Morocco in winter - advice needed by Les Rose
Planning to drive down through France and Spain mid-December. Most campsites will be closed. Does anyone know where I can get a list of overnight motorhome stops in these countries and Morocco of course? What's the situation re replenishing gas? Presumably no Calor but I can change to Campingaz if necessary.

Hi! I'm taking the Superfast ferry from Scotland to Zebrugge next week. Thereafter via Antwerp - Aachen - Wurzburg - Munchen - Salzburg. Can anyone recommend a good site not too far from the A13-A2-A76(A4) route for an overnight stop between Antwerp and Aachen? TIA
